THE ULTIMATE SIYUM: COMPLETING THE NEW HOME OF OHR HATORAH

There is no greater nachas for a father than watching his young son stand up to make a siyum.

At Ohr HaTorah, such milestones are a daily mission and a common reality. From the youngest age, talmidim are constantly learning, completing, and celebrating their achievements. In second grade, they make a siyum on Sefer Bereishis. By fourth grade, they have mastered all of Chumash. By fifth grade, they stand proud having finished nearly ten masechtos of Mishnayos!

The incredible command of Torah these young children possess is impossible to fully grasp until seen with your own eyes.

But good news spreads fast... Founded just four short years ago with a handful of children, word got out and many families rushed to join the fledgling cheder. By the second year, parallel classes had to be opened. Today, the cheder is home to over 350 precious tinokos shel bais rabban KE”H.

This welcome growth has come with a heavy price though. To keep pace, the talmidim have been forced to move from one makeshift location to another. Classrooms were split up, grades were scattered across separate sites, and it didn’t take long for even these setups to start bursting at the seams. 

The children have certainly proven that they can master the Torah under any circumstances, but they deserve to learn with harchovas hada’as, in a suitable space built specifically for them.

To that end, leadership and askanim of the cheder took a massive leap of faith, acquiring a prime property with approved plans, and immediately breaking ground on a state-of-the-art building.

Today, the new building is coming into form, with work moving at a furious pace.

But to get this building across the finish line in time for the upcoming school year, we must make our own siyum! We need to ensure that financial hurdles do not slow down the construction so that cheder can start on time.
